Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah
A fierce and formidable woman, Caizelle Sarvejian was born in Irinjivar almost one and a half century ago, and has worn the shawl for most of that time. A typically Saldaean woman, she was born on the periphery of luxury, as her mother was an attendant to one of the great ladies of Saldaea, Lady Sovian of House Hadashi and one of her house armsman, although it was speculated that her true father is Lady Sovian's son. Caizelle was reared in the manor house itself, given respectable duties as an assistant to the Shatayan, responsible for the linens and their manufacture. Still Caizelle wished for more, more gold, more respect, access to costly silks and jewels, a fine horse of her own. She also fancied the soldiers in a brazen manner.
Caizelle lived her early years as described, until it was discovered that she was a wilder, who was reaching for Saidar in order to "catch the eye" of a passing armsman, albeit unknowingly, she needed to be clutching a needle and thread at the time, so intermingled in her own mind was the notion of weaving Saidar with the physical act of sewing elaborate stitches. Eventually, she achieved some vague mastery of the One Power, and rose in Lady Sovian's household, until she became Shatayan herself. She was also engaged to marry, a handsome guard named Temar. Alas, in a revolt that was wrought by a False Dragon, Adian Zayar, much of the house's estates were laid to ruin, and many soldiers were killed including Temar. Lady Sovian was forced to release many of her servitors, and so Caizelle was destitute and heartbroken, with a pathological hatred of men, for she blamed both her state of affairs and that of her patroness on fool men and their blundering ways.
In time, she came to Maradon itself, plying a trade as a seamstress when she came to the attention of Diseyne Tsanmallen, a soaring figure of grace and power among the Aes Sedai, who encountered Caizelle when she entered her shop. Recognizing Caizelle was a wilder, she dispatched her immediately to Tar Valon, with directions to enroll in the White Tower. Caizelle was not yet twenty and two, yet she caused much concern for age. Nonetheless, she passed through her time as a novice without incident, and in time came under the sway of the Red Ajah. Upon passing her test for sisterhood, she chose Red, seeking to emulate Diseyne whom she so respected.
Caizelle is a proficient Healer, and a capable Aes Sedai, with her greatest strengths in Air, Spirit, and unusually for a Saidar channeler, Fire. She is well regarded by her own Ajah, although she has a bitter rivalry with Guensin Aniches. Additionally, she has an intense emnity with Cetreise a'Sorhan of the Blue Ajah over an incident decades ago.
Fiery in temperament and appearance, this handsome Saldaean woman has often been compared to she-wolf, for she has a feral quality that often puts onlookers in mind of a wolf on the hunt. Her hair is a mass of waves spilling down her back, a deep auburn, almost the color of ox-blood, long enough for her sit upon. Her wide, dark eyes dart challengingly, appraising all who would come before, and her wide, generous mouth seems more comfortable in a tight line of disapproval than a smile. Her nose is a sharp wedge between her tilted eyes, all bracketed by soaring cheekbones sharp enough to shave ice. Caizelle is not a tall woman, but she is taller than many women, and her frame is not slim, but taut and lissome. Her long hair is held off her face by a simple riband of gold wires and gleams from careful attention. Her riding dress is cut from dark brown satin, with divided skirts and a high, sharp collar. Detailed embroidery, picked out in scarlet and gold in a thorny, scrolling vine pattern, winds its way down the long sleeves and in two tight bands around her hems. Small fastening studs of gold each centering upon a glistening garnet are arrayed down the snug bodice. A thick cape of splendid crimson velvet is thrown over the dress, the cape lined with silvery snow-fox. A large broach fashioned into the shape of a wolf's head in profile fastens the cape in place, off-centre on one shoulder. Around her waist is a narrow belt of black leather hung with purse and dagger. Heeled riding boots of glossy black leather complete her equipage.
